Auction at the Ringing Anvil!

(Written and organized by Joel, player of Durham, with minor edits by the Scribes)

Auction at the Ringing Anvil

News comes to the Dual-Cities of a new event coming to Cothan-Gadeed. Recently Durham has been walking the streets and carousing the taverns, speaking to anyone one would listen about his adventures in the Sixth House of the Klackons and the treasure recovered there. He tells of an auction he is hosting at his workshop, the Ringing Anvil, held at the end of this month. It is where he and his comrades of the Survivors of the Tel will sell a throne made entirely of zortrium (a greenish alloy of wondrous strength), a priceless work of art and worthy of any royal house.

But that is not all! Durham says--he is opening up the auction to all who are willing to come. Allowing anyone who registers for the auction the ability to bid on and sell off items, such a collection of unique items as will be found nowhere else.

Word spreads and soon it is heard that citizens of the great tribes and houses of Gadeed will be attending, as well as representatives from the four great taverns. Interest continues to build, and many wonder who else will attend and what other items will be put up for auction.

Auction rules

To participate in the auction player's will need to pay 100 gp for each character that is joining the auction.

Paying the registration fee allows a character to bid on items and put items up for auction.

The registration fee and items up for auction will help generate interest in the zortrium throne and the other items for sale. (so the more characters sign up and the more items the auction has for sale make this auction more profitable.)

(And don't forget that non-player-characters will be participating, bidding on items, and potentially putting items up for auction as well!)

Bidding & selling

We'll be doing the bidding blind auction style. Players will be able to put forth one bid per item, but will be unaware of any other bids; the highest bid will win the item.

If a player wishes to put one of their items up for auction, they must submit which character will be selling what item and set a starting bid for that item and give a brief description. For example, Durham will be selling a scroll recovered from the Ahko hunt many months ago. The submission should look as follows.

Character : Durham
Item: mysterious scroll
Description: a treasure recovered from a sunken war galley.
Starting bid: 250 gp

All items players wish to sell must be submitted by the 21st of August; a future post will catalog all the items available for bidding and when bids need to be turned in. Players can submit their item by replying to this post or by contacting Durham (aka talk to Joel and/or Cullen on discord)
